The floor material is a 12" x 12" quartzite
and was also installed on the shower step. Quartzite is a durable, decorative
stone that needs to be sealed to protect the surface from stains.
Inside the shower is a 6"x12" ceramic tile with
inlaid glass tile as a border. Glass tile was also installed on the surface
of the vanity in the same bathroom.
Creating a mirror image by tiling the two small walls opposite each other with limestone. the far left picture is marking the layout and setting the level.
The bathroom below has light limestone tiles on the wall and a darker greek marble on the wall as strips and baseboard and on the floor. Both tiles started as 12 x 12 inch tiles and had to be cut down to size and the cut edges then ground down by hand using grinding stone so that the cut side blended in with the factory finished edge giving the overall job a much more refined look. The limestone is now 6 x12 and the dark marble 1.5 x 12. With the strips coming down from the window, over the shelf and around the imported deep Japanese bathtub and flowing to floor it gives the appearance of a cascading waterfall surounded by limestone walls.
In the third picture you can see the orginal size of the stone and the finished cut pieces as used on the walls
